Red Ribbon Club Awareness Program on HIV/AIDS
Date: 17th - 20th September
The HATIM Red Ribbon Club successfully organized an awareness program on HIV/AIDS from the 17th to the 20th of September. The program covered topics such as routes of transmission, signs and symptoms of HIV and STIs, and prevention methods. The event aimed to educate college students about the importance of HIV/AIDS awareness and promote healthy practices.
The awareness program began on Tuesday, 17th September, and will continue until Friday, 20th September. A stall was set up in the college premises, offering custom-made pamphlets, bookmarks, and booklets issued by MSACS (Mizoram State AIDS Control Society). These materials were distributed free of charge to visitors, along with refreshments. Additionally, Body Mass Index (BMI) measurements were provided for concerned individuals.
To engage visitors, students displayed their artworks. Posters and banners highlighting key messages on HIV/AIDS awareness were also prominently displayed. The MSACS inspection team visited the stall on 18th September and praised the club’s efforts. As a gesture of appreciation, the club’s faculty advisor and the club office bearers hosted the inspection team for lunch.
The program received overwhelming support from college students, who visited and encouraged club members. The event successfully raised awareness about HIV/AIDS, its transmission, signs, symptoms, and prevention, promoting healthy practices and lifestyle choices among college students.
The Red Ribbon Club’s awareness program was a resounding success, thanks to the collective efforts of club members, teachers, and college students. We appreciate the support from MSACS and the college administration. This initiative has contributed significantly to promoting HIV/AIDS awareness and healthy practices among our college community.
We extend special acknowledgments to the Club Teacher-in-Charge, Club Office Bearers, MSACS Organization, and participating students.
